Mark Hamilton, professor in the Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering, has been selected to receive the Gold Medal Award by the Acoustical Society of America.
Hamilton will also receive the ASA Student Council David T. Blackstock Mentorship Award, named after esteemed UT mechanical engineering professor David Blackstock.
The Gold Medal is the Acoustical Society of America's highest honor and it is awarded for lifetime technical achievements and service. The citation for Hamilton’s award is “For contributions to theoretical nonlinear acoustics, education, and for service to and leadership of the society." Hamilton will receive both awards at the spring society meeting in Chicago.
