About

Wei Li joined the faculty in 2010. Previously, he was an associate professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Washington in Seattle. Dr. Li received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. His research interests include nano and biomaterials processing and manufacturing, biomedical design and manufacturing, and clean energy technology. He also has extensive experience in manufacturing process monitoring and diagnosis using data analytics techniques.

Li’s research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, state agencies, and industry partners such as Chrysler, General Motors, and Boeing. He served as a board director of the North American Manufacturing Research Institution of SME, Chair of the Biomanufacturing Technical Committee of the ASME Manufacturing Engineering Division, and an associate editor of the ASME Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering.
