About

Ilyas Iyoob currently serves as Chief Data Scientist and Global Head of Research at Kyndryl, where he leads the global research agenda across Agentic AI, Digital Twins, and Quantum-Safe Cryptography. His work combines deep mathematical rigor with hands-on innovation, guiding teams from early proof-of-concepts to production-grade enterprise deployments.

As a successful entrepreneur, Iyoob helped build Gravitant, a cloud optimization startup acquired by IBM in 2016, where he helped transform the cloud brokerage space. Iyoob continues to mentor founders as Venture Partner at Clutch VC, advising portfolio companies on AI strategy, enterprise readiness, and responsible adoption.

Beyond industry, he serves on the faculty of the Cockrell School of Engineering at UT Austin, teaching Data Science and Operations Research, and was awarded the World Mechanics Prize for expertise in Applied Mathematics. Iyoob is also a frequent keynote speaker at global AI conferences, where he shares insights on moving AI from pilot to profit.
