Derek W. Davies is a Lecturer in the Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. He earned his Ph.D. in Materials Science Engineering from UT Austin in 2023. In addition to lecturing, Dr. Davies is involved with overseeing several materials laboratory spaces and the department’s scanning electron microscope. He also assists graduate students, undergraduate students, and a number of engineering organizations (Longhorn Racing, Texas Rocket Engineering Lab, etc.) with equipment training and materials testing.
