The mechanical engineering graduate program in the Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin has been ranked No. 11 according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2023-2024 graduate school rankings.

The Cockrell School of Engineering is once again among the top 10 engineering programs in the nation, finishing No. 7 in U.S. News & World Report’s 2023-2024 graduate engineering program rankings. In addition, three programs are ranked in the top five, seven in the top 10 and all programs finished in the top 25.

U.S. News & World Report’s annual engineering graduate program rankings are based on student acceptance rates, faculty/student ratios, research expenditures, reputation among engineers in industry and academia, the number of doctoral degrees produced, the percentage of faculty elected to the National Academy of Engineering and entrance exam scores.
