The UT Austin Office of Admissions is responsible for the admission of undergraduate students to the university. Future students may communicate with admissions counselors through visit event registration, academics, financial aid, and housing. Although Admissions handles the decision-making process, we are more than happy to meet with you in our department to give you more information about our program and provide you with a brief tour of our facilities.
Calculus Readiness Requirement
To be considered for admission to the Cockrell School of Engineering, you must meet the school's Calculus Readiness Requirement.
Prospective Student Visits
Schedule your campus visit and look for the personalization option to include the Mechanical Engineering sub-session.
For more information about joining Texas Engineering, visit Cockrell School Undergraduate Education.
Students entering Mechanical Engineering are required to have a laptop at their disposal. Laptops do not need to be brought to campus on a daily basis, but individual courses may require that a laptop be brought to class or lab sessions.
