Jame Kendrick, UT ME undergraduate.

James Kendrick, an undergraduate in the Mechanical Engineering Department and in the Nuclear and Radiation Engineering Program has been offered a summer position as Research Fellow with Penn State's Toshiba-Westinghouse Undergraduate Fellows Program. As a Research Fellow, he will have an outstanding opportunity to gain valuable research experience in the nuclear field at Penn State, participate in professional development opportunities, and network with high-level Toshiba-Westinghouse executives. His ten-week stay includes a $6,000 stipend, free housing and a $300 travel allocation. Currently, James is a junior and has a 3.94 GPA. James is very interested in nuclear energy systems and his current pursuit for a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering with a Nuclear and Radiation Engineering Technical option will allow him to achieve his goals to obtain an advanced graduate degree in this area.

Professor Sheldon Landsberger, who enthusiastically endorsed Kendrick, has served as a mentor to him during the past year. Although Landsberger initially suggested the summer fellowship, Kendrick applied for it and secured it independently.
